Associative economics shares much with the degrowth approach. Both reject the dominance of competitive market mechanisms and prioritize collaborative, ethical, and sustainable economic practices. Associative economics focuses on dialogue and consensus among economic actors, similar to participatory and cooperative models in the degrowth movement. Both advocate for fair pricing and the inclusion of social and environmental costs in economic decisions.
