Thank you so much for your essay! For a significant part of my life I was a studied Whitehead--first in graduate school, then at the Center for Process Studies. I live in Northern California now, so I an out of touch with all things Whiteheadian. But reading your essay has been the best refresher I could of dreamed of. Thank you again !!!
I’m stunned by the number of convergences I find between the cosmology of Whitehead as described by you and the cosmology of Martinus that I briefly introduced you to a while ago.
Of course there are also a few differences, mainly in the interpretation of the Trinity, where Martinus’ take is a bit different from Whiteheads.
Whitehead was Martinus’ senior with about thirty years, but it seems to me that they both were tapping into a common pool of wisdom.
In relation to what you wrote about electromagnetic fields possibly being expressions of consciousness, Martinus believed that our planet received a gigantic spiritual impulse starting in the early 1920’s, that would lay the groundwork for a new global culture, based on a new understanding of the universe as a living organism in which we live, move and have our being.
I don’t know whether that’s true, but if it is it certainly seems like Whitehead were in tune with it.
I know you’re a busy man, but I would love to have a conversation with you someday about the relationship between mysticism and philosophy in general, and Martinus and Whitehead in particular.
Beautiful. Thank you Matthew 🙏

Yes let’s schedule something! Would you like to record together for Urphänomen?
Great idea,
I’ll send you a mail in the near future😊
Great essay! It reminds me what I love about ANW and how my views of God differ from his. Thanks!
