I can’t help smiling when I see this graphic rendition of the Whore of Babylon. Everything looks so upright, orderly and decent. Perhaps betraying the puritanical streak in Protestantism. In any case, it provides an intense and interesting contrast, if we slide five centuries down the time line and arrive to our present time. I purposely placed side by side that “exposé” with a plain image of a busy city centre, such as Times Square. The Book of Revelation is quintessentially mythopoetic; its truths just seem to get more eloquent, telling and vivid with time.
